Argument: Maximizing happiness

  1. The creator of the world is omniscient, benevolent, and omnipotent.
  2. If a being is omnipotent, then it can carry out every conceivable act.
  3. If a being is omniscient, it is aware of all consequences of its actions.
  4. If a being is benevolent, it does not want evil.
  5. If a being is benevolent, then it primarily wants to maximize happiness and well-being in the world.
  6. The creator of the world is (i) aware of all the consequences of his actions, (ii) can create every conceivable world, (iii) does not want evil, but (iv) primarily wants to maximize happiness and wellbeing in the world.
