There are variant and invariant moral reasons. Invariant moral reasons always depend on virtues. The counter-examples are only concerned with the former.

  1. Moral reasons that are based on virtues are invariant.
  2. There are variant and invariant moral reasons.
  3. NOT: For all simple candidates for moral principles there are cases in which these principles are false.
